Appealing for more financial aid?!

<p>I know that NYU is known for being stingy with financial aid, but does anyone have any experience appealing for more aid? I've been offered a decent amount, but it still leaves about 24,000 in loans a year and I have an EFC of 0. USC is offering me a much better offer (with a large grant) and I was wondering if anyone has had success/tried to get them to match the money of another university. </p>

<p>Thanks for any help, regardless of what happens I am very grateful for these options.
(Oh and I don't know if this is important, but I would be in Tisch or SCA for film).</p>

<p>I actually tried calling them last Monday to try and get an extra 1-2k… but they weren’t very helpful. I’m going to try again at a later date.</p>
