Appealing, NEED HELP

i have a question on appealing to UCLA.
Ucla requested a supplemental application from me, and even
extended the deadline back in february.

However, I didn't know what that was back then and asked some counselors at my school. They said it was probably a questionnaire, SO I DIDNT DO IT ( BIGGEST REGRET OF MY LIFE. PERIOD.)

Apparently, I got rejected and was wondering how to appeal.

Does UCLA take note of who they send out supplementary to? will this work in my favor on my appeal?

Should i include my senior year grades and respond to the questions on the appeal (extenuating circumstances, sr yr grades, etc)?

thanks

Yes, they keep note, no, it won’t help you, because you didn’t take the time to fill it out, and they’ll probably wonder why you didn’t convey more interest earlier (ie you might appear desperate, since you had the chance earlier and didn’t seize it).

I would definitely send in senior grades, or at least make note of them.

the appeal website says senior year grades are not a basis for appeal

^ even if i was asked for sr yr grades in the supplemental questions?

I mean, would it hurt my chances if i include them? (because i got a 4.3 1st term sr year)

Would telling them about graduating with an AA degree (by the age of 17) help? Also, I never mentioned my Community College GPA of 3.93 (spanning 70 units).

Im still not really sure what to do. Should i at least include some answers to the supplemental questions and my sr year grades?, or should i just include “new information”

^well, telling them about my 60 college units apparently helped me. it was part of my personal statement, tho.

like arklogic said, sr year grades dont matter for appeals. nonetheless, the fact that you didnt submit the supplemental hurt you. you could’ve looked it up on your own to really find out what it was.

^yeah, i know. I shouldve looked it up. When i got it, I did however asked my friend who also had supplementary what it was, and she said that it was nothing at all (she didn’t submit hers i think…but she got in…lucky)… gawd i feel like blew a huge opportunity by not turning it in…:(

well, im going to at least mention in a sentence my upwards grade trend during senior year…

Also, Should i mention the fact that I was my mom’s ESL tutor (at home), and her translator (to an extent)? or does that come off as too “fake” and “desperate”?

…bump…

bump…

yea yea mention everything I mean it won’t hurt? The real shame here is that you have incompetent high school counselors. So mention being your moms tutor and all of the units you took etc etc, and good luck.

^ ok
thanks for the reply…

and yea really though my counselor is lazy/incompetant.
Back in December, he was so out of it that he made people write their own recommendations for themselves (and he signed them with his sig)

wow sounds like my counselor too
