I just recently discovered that my weighted GPA, instead of being a 3.3, is actually a 3.8.

I discovered the error while talking to my guidance couselor, and he showed me how to calculate my GPA at home. I did, and low and behold, it raised my weighted by a whopping .5.

My problem is that I've recently been rejected at some schools that I'd like to appeal to by writing a letter with this information and some support from my guidance counselor, but I'm wondering:

a) Will it be pointless just due to sheer fact of the decisions being released already?
b) There are a number of schools I will be appealing to, but I doubt they all have a formal appeals process like the University of California schools (none of these schools are UCs) -- will that make it useless to report this inaccuracy?

I really think a 3.3 to a 3.8 is a pretty decent jump that I think is worth correcting. Thoughts?
