<p>I'm thinking of appealing for UCI and I'm wondering, is there any way I can put that I would be like to be considered for another major? The reason I'm asking is because I originally put my major as an engineering one, which I later find out might have made the selection process a bit more specific. I feel that if I had applied under a different major I would've had a higher chance of getting in. Also, are letters from teachers optional or required? Thank You.</p>

<p>if u have like mistakes in your app (i.e. grades, etc) appeal may (very low chance) be granted if it is significant enough</p>

<p>Im not sure but i think you could request to appeal to another major. Just make sure you submit your appeal soon because the May 1 deadline for turning in your SIR is coming up. Irvine seems to have a successful appeal rate. </p>
