Appeals 2012

Has anyone appealed or plans to appeal?

Those who already have appealed, have you heard back from them yet?

thanks!

Hi, yes, my daughter appealed. The appeal was recieved on March 14th. She has not heard back.

how did you know when it was received?

probably by tracking his/her package, i did the same thing so i know they had received it.

what kind of case are you guys making for the appeal if you dont mind me asking? I am trying to figure out if I should get an appeal in.

@elitetoast

when were you rejected? you have to submit an appeal within 30 days of rejection.

I was rejected on March 7th as a transfer, so I have a little over a week to postmark it.

By tracking the package. They had to sign for the package.

@EliteToast,

I think I got denied because I didn’t complete one major prereq which was not offered at school that I was attending because I’m transferring from another university (no where near SD). The biggest reason why I decided to appeal however, is that I have to be in San Diego (for personal and compelling reasons) so I’m praying they’ll reconsider.

Good luck to everyone else.

@mariagoestocal,

My fingers and toes are crossed for you, but most of all prayers. Good luck sweetheart, I have a feeling you deserve this. All the best.

thank you : )

good luck! ill talk it out with some people and find out the best option for appeal myself!

I wish you all the best, but you only have a shot at a successful appeal if you add something new to your application. Like a new class that was an assist.org requirement, or some kind of award or academic achievement you recently acquired. Otherwise your just sending back the same application they already looked over and denied. Even then chances are very slim, they only appeal the top 2-3%, most of which are from the wait list. Best thing to do is move on and look at other schools.

My daughter sent an appeal that was received on March 20th (letter was tracked). We have not heard anything back. The appeal was based on a learning disability that significantly impacted her freshman and sophomore GPA. Junior GPA was great as was SAT taken during junior year. We also appealed to Cal Poly and that appeal was dismissed without even reading the basis for the appeal and test results confirming the disability. For this reason we have little hope for SDSU but hanging in there.

decided not to appeal. Although I will be happily attending long beach in the fall :smiley: closer to go down to san diego to visit my brother than where i live now anyways. almost a little glad i got rejected to san diego, this will let me have my own experience in long beach!

I read somewhere that appeals decisions won’t come out until after May 1st, which makes sense because May 1st is the deadline for everyone to submit their SIR.

I appealed, and I have been admitted :slight_smile: I found out two days ago

m9summer@ what was the basis of your appeal if you don’t mind me asking. Congratulations! Your gonna love it.

@m9summer, omg! that’s awesome!! and it gives me a bit of hope. What was the basis for your appeal?

I had made an error on my supplemental application regarding how many credits I had, because I am coming in as a transfer student. I checked my SDSU webportal account about three weeks after I sent in my appeals packet and found out that I had been admitted.
