<p>with the sheer volume of people submitting their SIRs, your appeal (i assume it's for a change-of-college or change-of-major) will NOT be a priority for them.</p>
<p>Most like they will reply after the SIR date. You can accept another UC and then cancel once your appeal is granted. That's what my son did. He SIR'd UC Davis, and then appealed UCSD. The day that he accepted UCSD's SIR, he faxed in a letter to DAvis to cancel his acceptance.</p>
<p>Also, you will probably also miss the housing deadline so you won't have guaranteed housing.</p>
