Harvard recently profiled their applicants with a quick glance. Here's what the Dean released in an interview yesterday.

[The middle class white kid with decent stats]
[The under qualified recruited athlete]
[The robotic Asian]
[The kid with terrible stats and a perfect SAT- slacker or cheater]
[The actress/actor turned Ivy scholar]
[The eccentric liberal extra curricular glutton]
[The quota fodder URM, who is qualified but has a massive target on their back for QQ from others]
[The science geek who won all the competitions]
[The hot girl who sent in a photo with her app hoping she can get in like Elle Woods did!]
[The kid with a tear jerking past who wrote about it for pity points]
[The psycho who sent in 5 supplements and 4 copies of teacher recs/school forms]
[Endowment baby. Library for Crimson.. DEAL OR NO DEAL???]
[The well rounded jack of all trades master of none]

[The hot girl who sent in a photo with her app hoping she can get in like Elle Woods did!]
--maybe not for Harvard, but I must say, the photo I sent to Columbia (they ask for one on the app) sure can't hurt... ;)

im this: [The quota fodder URM, who is qualified but has a massive target on their back for QQ from others]
but rofl at the robotic asian one lol

I'm kind of the well rounded jack of all trades master of none, except that I do master trombone playing (i sent in a music supplement.. can't hurt)

Brunette, green or blue eyes, tall; passionate about something - or at least competent at something, funny (either in the "awww" kind of way or the "Wow...that is a rapier like wit" kind of way), as smart as/smarter than me.

Heheh, how about [ High academics achievements, nice ECs/recs/essay, not Asian......and conservative and witty, lol] ?

Come on, Hahvahhd, you can break the applicant-type trends...by admitting me!!!

I am attractive to you because I embody different aspects of all the above types:

I am an Asian but I am not a robot. (I'm a human being!)
I am under-qualified but I am not an athlete fit for recruitment.
I sorta sent a picture of myself to market my womanly charms--in my self-portraits in my art portfolio, that is. (In one of my portraits there is a nice curve of my derriere!)
I am an eccentric liberal but my extracurriculars don't reflect that side of me.
I am a middle-class kid who wasn't spoonfed everything her whole life. Then H won't be accused of being an elitist school by admitting more people like me.
I am like those slightly under-qualified URMs who get in, in that I am slightly under-qualified, but I am an ORM.
I am neurotic because I applied to Hahvahhd when I knew that I had no chance in the first place...but unfortunately, I wasn't crazy enough to send more copies of my stuff. Hey, Hahvahhd wants those well-rounded kids who won't end up shooting anyone down on campus, right?

Okay, so I have nothing in common with the rich bribery folks...Unless, of course, you count the lovely portrait of my derriere as a visual bribe...

Hahhah. I have a very bad pun: I am a prestige whore, literally!

Oh yeah. I almost forgot. I suppose that being an Asian could cause H to mistakenly assume that I am a science geek, so until they realize that I am not, I am in that sense sort of like the Intel geek (almost, but not quite).

The only thing tear-jerking about me is that my app will end up as another app just like all the other hopefuls, nothing really worth reading anymore to H. The admissions readers will be literally bored to tears.

I am like the actress with sudden Ivy status in that I suddenly, out of the blue, decided to apply to H for partially pretentious reasons.

As for my resemblance to the Jack of all trades, I have dabbled in everything, and I suppose that the one "passion" that I have developed could be considered not something that I have mastered, but only attempted to master.

Hey, who knows, maybe some of the adcoms are into the whole "sexy nerd" thing...well, after going through thousands of apps they probably won't be in their right minds!
