Applicants for Next Year

Most of the threads here now are by people who have already been accepted to the UC or to other colleges... is there anyone here who is applying next year?

We can get to know each other. =D

17/F/Cleveland OH

Rockin' out at home building a self-propelled car out of a mousetrap. =P

I want to go the the University of Chicago for the life of the mind. I was hooked by the first page of their viewbook, which told me the life of the mind is... "sexy... criminally underrated... a sequence converging to 0... ineluctable hierophany..."

I grabbed a dictionary, and I loved every moment.

<3

i'm def applying next year. i went to the campus last year and absolutely loved loved it.

Excellent!

When no one responded I thought... no... I couldn't be the only junior here...

What did you find most attractive about the campus? I haven't been there yet.

im applying next year: male/arizona

Hey Noctua, spending time here on CC instead of studying your stats and history I see ;)

I don't know if I'll be applying, but the essay prompts look like so much fun that I might not be able to resist! (Did you see the prompt from a few years ago that had something to do with a bottle of mustard..?)

16/F/OH, by the way.

i'm applying next year, if i don't get in i'll do grad school at u of c, (if i get in then) i'm hardcore science nerd, but a journalism freak, my school paper just won state, and i am so excited to write the essays!!
i'm doing summer session at u of c as well.. ANY SUMMER SESSION PEOPLE POST YOUR xango, myspace, email..etc

16/F/IL

it was based on cambridge, it really is beautiful. I love the dining hall the most! (architecturally)

Unless I absolutely hate the place when I visit it this coming week, I'll be applying... 17/F/(C)NY

What summer session are you doing? (I'm applying this coming week for one of the writing Insights-- hopefully there are still spots open. Figures TASP results don't come out until almost every deadline has either passed or is about to...)

Hey Mandizz -

We should organize a "J-State" summer event - college app brainstorming session or something... 24 hours of non-stop idea toss, etc. And yes, the mustard is an old favorite. We could look at old essay prompts, peer edit, and eat Thai food.

I would love to do a summer session (especially the Egyptian Language/Lit!) but it took me three years of summer work to save for my trip to Germany... I can't afford it. =(

haha noctua I'M EGYPTIAN! and i travel there every summer to see my family... i'm taking intensive language study in 3rd yr arabic, only taking quarter 1 but i'm so excited.. i'm commuting to u of c though :(
