I’m really interested in applying for MT at UMich. I realize it’s highly competitive, and I’m more than a little intimated by the low acceptance rate…but I really want to try!

I’m in Gr. 11 in highschool, and I’ve been taking MT class for the past couple years. I have extensive training in classical piano, theory, harmony, music history, etc. By the time I audition (if I do get to audition), I will have had 2 1/2 yrs. of vocal and about a year’s worth of dance classes (ballet and jazz). My marks range from the mid-80s to low 90s.
I’ve never been trained in acting, unless you count Gr. 9 drama class and highschool MT class. I also have no experience in productions, except for MT class showcases. I am, however, used to performing (for piano), I’m going to be in a dance recital, and I plan to audition for my school’s mainstage next yr. I’m also preparing for my SATs.

Do I stand a chance at all? Also, what monologues and songs would be good for auditions? The website says the songs should show some sort of progression…? And what is the piano INTERVIEW? Is the dance audition difficult? (I don’t have much dance training AT ALL, but I catch on pretty quickly.) Should I mention in my app. that I took 3 yrs. of French in junior high? (They say it’s good to have taken a foreign language class.) I don’t know because Gr. 9 in Canada, where I’m from, is junior high, so it won’t be on my transcript, but in the States, it’s part of highschool.

I’m freaking out, and I’m sorry if some of these questions have been asked before. (I tried to read all of the previous threads, but I still have questions!) ANY advice or help at all would be hugely appreciated, thanks!!
