Hello,
I wanted to know what the deadline for a university application really means. I have sent my documentation to the University of Pennsylvania a little over a week ago, but I have not gotten a reply stating that they have received anything and the deadline is tomorrow. Do you guys think that they allot a little more time that the deadline that's stated?
Thanks

I think it depends on the school. A lot of them are probably closed for the holidays. My daughter has received application acknowledgments from about six schools and she applied to about 15. I assume other acknowledgments will come.

This has hardly been a regular work week. There was no mail last Saturday. The Admissions Office has probably been closed all week this week.

You mailed it. When you mailed it, it was postmarked–and postmarked well before Jan. 1. You should save your worry for something more likely to go wrong than this. But if you’re going to keep worrying anyway, you can call the office or email the person who handles admissions for your area next week.
