Hello expert parents here!
My kids are applying for 8th and 6th grades at some private schools in texas.
I am wondering how to fill out these questions as:

What initiated your search for a new school for your child?

What are your childs greatest strengths

Please comment on what you consider to be your childs greatest area of need.

Describe your childs relationship with her family

Describe your childs relationship with her peers

Please describe your daughters study habits

You child's academic awards

I guess I am wondering what type of answers will boost my kids' chance of being accepted? Do I need to give examples in answering the questions? Do awards in Art/Music count as "academic awards"? What if my kids' don't have big academic awards ?

I am no expert! But, what we did was try to be very honest in our responses, while still painting our children in a positive light. We thought that if a school doesn’t want to accept our children for who they are, then they probably won’t be happy at that school anyway. Possibly too naive? I don’t know.

I hope others share their thoughts, because we haven’t turned ours in to all of our schools yet.

We answered many of these questions last year with our son applying for high school- he is a prep at Exeter this year. I tried to be as honest as possible with real world examples- When the question related to homesickness- I referred to a trip he took to Hawaii with his school… I also tried to give examples that highlighted who are son was- not just the right answer. I thought of it much like a job application or interview. In regards to academic awards- if your child won an art contest for school- then I would count it as an academic award.
