I sent in part I about three weeks ago, and today received an account to check my application status. I know that both my teachers sent in their recommendations at the same time I sent in my part I, but on the website, it said that Cornell hasn't received either of my recs. What should I do? BTW: I sent in the rest of my application two days ago. Has anyone else had a problem with teachers sending in their recs before they've sent in their application? Arrrgghh...help. It happened with my Yale EA - I had to get my teachers to fax over the recs again. They were NOT happy.

same here! except only one is missing!

It could just be that the office is slow with getting the system updated. I'd check back in a week or two before calling. Part 1, I believe, gets sent to a different address. I think different people handle the Part 1 forms, so it may have been quicker getting you your account. Everything else goes the the processing center, and they have to file recommendations, applications, secondary reports, etc. They probably received your stuff and just haven't put it up yet.

i thought the same thing, but i checked yesterday and my new sat scores were there but my recommendation STILL hadn't been acknowledged... ahh i'm getting worried

Mine were sent weeks ago and half have not shown up. Chill, it takes them a while to process the tens of thousands of documents they are getting.

exactly. let's give them about 6 weeks and if it still says missing then, you might want to contact them.

for some reason, when i go into my application status page, it says that my fee hasn't been received yet. I paid the fee online through common app about 5 days ago, but it still says they haven't received my payment. What gives? I don't want to pay again through common app because I don't want to be charged twice. What should I do? If I wait till the 3rd to call them and ask about this, won't the fee be late?

Perhaps it hasn't shown up because the admissions office is closed for the holidays?

Yeah, they just have so much mail to deal with. Literally, dozens of boxes of mail get delivered these days to all big schools and it's going to take a while for the admissions people to sort everything out and then eventually update the website. I'm not going to worry until mid-January. I've heard that sometimes it can take up to then for them to stop sorting everything out so until then, I'm just going to assume everything's normal.

Thanks guys for the reassurance. I'll wait a couple more days and see what happens. :)

For ED, it took Cornell prolly a week to sort through everything and actually find what people were missing. I was missing my GC letter, which my GC forgot to mail with the rest of my app. It took one simple phone call, and she faxed it an hour later.

cornell has my transcripts, but it doesn't have my school report. i sent them in together. i'm not sure what happened.
