Application Mistake

I was looking on my Rutgers account and saw that there was a section talking about how many college credits you would have upon entering the University. I assumed they were talking about AP credits since those can transfer to college credits so I clicked the option of 1-11. However I looked on the website and they were talking about credits at a postsecondary institution and I do not take college classes through school. Also, I checked over my essay in the paste box twice and everything was perfect but now I see that some of my quotation marks and apostrophes have been turned to upside down question marks? I am not sure if this is a glitch or what this could be…

Should I email the school about this? I do not want this to affect my admission. It says my application is still in process.

You should email the regional rep and cc the general ad office email. Explain this, and attach a corrected version of the essay. You arent doomed.

Hey! I had this exact same issue when I submitted my application. I noticed it right after submitting, so I immediately called the admissions office. The person on the phone told me that the office is aware of the glitch, and reassured me by saying that while it’s not displayed correctly for us, the admissions officers are able to view original essays without issues.

Therefore, don’t worry about it. It’s Rutgers’ glitch.
