My grades are relatively high (33, 5's on AP's, 3.81 :(...) and my dream school is georgetown, and I am debating between SFS and the college. If my main goal is to get into Georgetown, would it be easier to apply to the college and then possibly transfer into the SFS, or should I go ahead and apply to SFS?

It’s not easy to switch into schools from the College. It is, however, a lot easier to switch into the college from other schools. You should apply for the school you’re interested in because it’s not guaranteed that you will be able to switch. Schools aren’t necessarily harder or easier to get into, they’re just focused on different things.

It would be wise to research the core curriculum and majors in each of the schools, SFS and the College. They are quite different. Apply to the school to which you really want to attend. Don’t play the “transfer” game. You may get burned and not get what you really want. Hope this helps.

I’ve been told the College is easier to get into, statistically. However, you should apply to the program you’re passionate about! That’d make you far more likely to get in.
