<p>When I'm filling out the application request for the HPME program at Northwestern, should I include some of my medical-related ECs in the additional comments section? Or are they just looking at my grades/SAT score? If they're just looking for 2200+ SAT or 4.3+ GPA or whatever stats, then I don't want to seem like I'm trying too hard by cramming in all of my ECs into the additional comments section. </p>
<p>The primary focus of the HPME application request form is to weed out applicants with scores that don’t meet a “cutoff” that is established after all the request forms are in. Your grades and scores are the priority for this form, so if those are good, you will be given an actual application where you will have the opportunity to describe your extracurricular activities. In other words, you are right in that you would seem like you’re trying too hard if you attempt to cram your ECs in to the application request form’s additional comments section.</p>
