Application Status Change

Under My Missing Application Materials (which has said no missing application materials for the past month, is now saying it is missing the final high school transcript. When i click on more information it says:

Syracuse University requires that you submit a copy of your Final High School Transcript. This must come directly from the High School and include a signature/seal as well as a Graduation Date. The school can submit the Final High School Transcript online via the Common Application website or through the mail in a sealed envelope to the following: Undergraduate Processing Center, Syracuse University, 621 Skytop Road, Suite 160, Syracuse, NY 13244.

Now, i haven't yet sent in my midyear grade report (we just finished midterms yesterday). Is this what this means, or is it just telling me this so I send it in after graduation. I'm a little confused...

My D’s status says the same thing and hers had stated that it had been complete for months. While I would love to think this is good news this would now be the 4th school that has put some erroneous message on her status that looks to mean one thing but really means another. I am banking on the fact that it is some method they use internally and actually means nothing at this point. One would think that they wouldn’t be asking for final grades unless one was accepted but I have seen so many wierd messages from so many schools that I know longer bank on the appeared meaning of the status change. You could email/call the admissions office and ask them. I am sure they will let you know what it means. If you find out please post for others to see.

Now it changed back to no missing application materials…so confused!

What a tease! Same thing happened to me. I do not think it’s any indication of whether or not people were accepted, probably just a mistake on their part. I am also going to assume that they probably meant mid-year grades as most of those haven’t been sent out yet, but who knows. They obviously didn’t mean to put it up, so I’m not worrying about it.

D’s changed back to the original status of “No Missing Materials” late this morning. I am sure it was mistake and/or a web page glitch. As I said earlier this is the 4th webpage mishap my D has experienced with 4 different schools. It is a good thing she doesn’t look at these things as it would be very stressful. Now I know why some schools don’t bother with webpage status updates!

is it strange that there is a link for an application acceptance form when I have not been notified of any admissions decision yet? I have the same thing for Boston University too.

Syracuse makes admissions decisions WAY in advance of notifying candidates; you are exactly a month away (Friday, March 11th at 4:30 is my educated guess)…it is highly possible that this is just a way that they “get ready”…

Anyone NOT have the admission acceptance form link showing? My son applied RD in Sept but it’s a substantial reach for him (his MYslice shows it as well) It’s true, DogsRBest and I have been through this deciphering of “prophetic technological fore-shadowing” a few times before this go round!!! If everyone shows it regardless of stats or application date…it’s most likely just a universal “field”

I am going with “it is a universal field”

Yah, previous years’ posts make mention of the “admission acceptance” link but it’s not until it “opens up with the student’s name and info” that things look promising. That appears to be MINUTES before the decision email arrives.

Just a word of advice…That “Admission Letter” link will haunt you for a while.

When I was waiting for mine, I would check it every day. Finally, I got a copy of the actual letter in my email (Still have it, actually.), and when that happens, the letter becomes available online.

DO make sure you set your spam filters not to filter it out though. I had to fish mine out of the Spam folder of gmail. :(
