<p>Okay so like i am still missing my midyear/ first quarter grades according to my status, we do not get our official grades until the end of january/ beginning of Feb... They said they are already reading applications... if i didnt send in those grades, does that mean they arent reading mine yet? will it delay my application? I dont want them to read it last and then all the seats get filled up.... or do they read all applications first before making a decision for each applicant?</p>

<p>I would assume your not the only one in this situation. I know I am as well. Syracuse isn’t the only college that requires mid-year reports and from what I know they all start reviewing applications without it. Unfortunately, grades are already set so I don’t think a mid-year report will make much of a difference, though I hope it will. I think your best bet is to call Syracuse the next chance you get and ask.</p>
<p>I called and asked and they said they need some kind of grade from senior year. My school doesnt report any senior grades until the end of jan… they told me they can’t read apps until its complete and mine is not complete without the senior grades. they are already reading apps now. I’m kind of worried. =/ They said i nneeed to send it ASAP because seats can get filled up.</p>
<p>Then talk to your college/guidance counselor and see if they can send them in early. I find this really surprising, I would think Syracuse would understand but maybe not. I wouldn’t stress over it though. Again, just speak to your college/guidance counselor.</p>
<p>In my myslice account it says 1st Senior year marking period grades are required. My college counselor had sent in the first marking period grades for a friend of mine, not the semester grade. She hasn’t done it for me yet, but i’m wondering if your counselor could do the same for you. When you called Syracuse did they say they wanted the 1st semester or 1st marking period?</p>
<p>They said 1st marking period grade… But we don’t get any grades until the end of the semester… I just called syracuse a few days ago… I told my guidance counselor a month ago and said she can’t do anything about it. She told me to scan my first progress report to them and see if they take it, if not then they will have to wait until the end of the semester… In my school, this is the first time ever that we don’t do quarter grades anymore and its changing it to semesters. ugh, why does it have to happen on my year ):. We get these progress reports during the semester but they don’t count on our record and like my guidance counselor doesn’t get them except my official end of the semester grades.</p>
<p>That sucks. The progress report is what my guidance counselor used. She has a copy of every student’s first and 2nd marking period grades, and though its not the final grade, she sent it to Syracuse. Do what your guidance counselor said and try scanning it and see if they take it.</p>
<p>I did. And syracuse said no. it has to come from my school. I emailed my counselor and she hasnt respond.): by the she responds, it doesnt matter anymore because my end of the semester grades will come out. Syracuse is already reading apps. and they surely aren’t reading mine =/</p>
<p>I don’t really know what to say except be optimistic. Its the college admissions process and it sucks. Once they get your end of semester grades I think they’ll start reviewing it. Besides your not alone, I bet there are a handful of seniors, including me, who are in your situation.</p>
