I'll be applting to colleges this year, so I wanted to be prepared in
advance. I'm also an international student so I dont get much access to
college fairs and stuff, so less access to brochures and previous application forms. I've only looked at the Upenn application-from two years ago.
I want to take a look at the Common App for people who apply by 2006 Nov.
or 2007 Jan.
I also want to take a look at Upenn applications and other schools that have
their own application forms. I'm planning to use less common app as possible,
and try to use the form that the school has-so if a school accepts their private application form, AND the common app, I'll use the private form.
Anyway, I don't know how to get them. I used the search engine to download
a commonapp, and it leads me to this Common app site, and you need to
register. I don't know if I should register 'cause I'm not applying immediately,
I need to wait more than 9months before I apply.
Where can I get access to these application forms??
And how do I register to make the schools send me an application form?
If I do register, when do they come?
Please help me out-I want to be as prepared as possible.
I have virtually no information about this.
Thanks a lot. :)

Oh, and the schools that I am interested are Ivies (except brown, dartmouth and Columbia), Northwestern University, Washington University in Saint Louis,
Stanford University, University of Muchigan Ann Arbor, University of California-Berkley, University of Wisconsin Madison, University of Illinois Urvana Champaign, University of Texas Austin

it's easy.
just go to http://app.commonapp.org/index.cfm?APP=AppOnline&ACT=Display&DSP=Forms

Thanx~! :)
I would really appreciate it if sb could tell me where I can get the private
apps too.

go to their website, click on the admissions link on the first page, and email the office a short note saying you'd like to request an application for 2006 (if it's even out yet)

you will be able to obtain the applications for SOME colleges in PDF format. just scrutinize their sites!

for example...
stanford: http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/applying/1_2e_application.html#forms

i'm pretty sure most schools have downloadable forms, as does the common app. since you're aiming for those top schools, it'll be a cinch to find them. the schools don't try to hide the forms...
look for places to be added to mailing lists, which also comes with the common-sense thing in navigating a website :)
