I applied to Stony Brook via SUNY App which tells me to use their School Counselor Form which I must sign then give to my guidance counselor to sign in which he/she will send my transcript to the campus, and that form to SUNY ASC.

Then Stony Brook has a separate form which tells me to send it to my counselor along with a transmittal form which look exactly like the SUNY one except this one has Stony's logo?

You can probably choose either. The only difference is that the first will go to SUNY Central first before being distributed to all campuses you are applying to, and the latter will be received at Stony Brook directly.

After the deadline? Would that negatively impact our application greatly? I was hoping there was some sort of online system that tells you what you’re missing, your status, etc. I mean if it’s after the deadline wouldn’t it be too late to send the items in?

Well it would delay review of your application. You can call the University to check if everything is in. You should make that effort, after all, its YOUR education/future we’re talking about.

I understand your concern, but we won’t realistically be far enough along in the process to tell you anything until then. I can tell you now that your transcripts aren’t in your file yet (hypothetically), but that doesn’t mean they’re not here, it just means they aren’t processed yet. With almost 30,000 applications, it takes us time to put the pieces together. Once we start getting a handle on everything, then we’ll follow up. Don’t worry about it! :)

If you call us, we’ll tell you the same thing; we’re not going to be able to give you any application information over the phone. Eventually (read: sometime after the new year) missing info will appear on your SOLAR account.

Thanks Chris, I’m just being a concern freak, got all my stuff in and received an email with my SOLAR ID. Now that that’s all over, I can relax and focus on my AP classes and my next SAT.
