applied economics vs finance

I am transferring to FSU in the fall and was accepted as an economics major. I was considering switching to finance. The problem is that if i go finance I would need 16 upper division level classes. I took so many classes at my previous school for economics I would only need 7 more upper division level classes. Obviously my GPA will be higher if i go the economics route. I would be able to take almost an entire year of pure elective classes which would greatly boost my gpa. I plan to get my MBA. I am just looking for insight and what your guys recommend will have me in the business sector the most and help me get into grad school.

I suggest stick with econ and maybe use those electives to minor in finance
