I will be starting college as a freshman this fall at UF and I have been considering majoring in either economics or finance. I've been told by some that finance is the better major because it's more applicable than economics. Despite this, I've looked all over the internet and it seems as though the prospects for econ majors are great. But, I'm also worried because so many people are econ majors and this surplus of econ majors could mean that it will be harder for me to find a job and stand out. Any advice is welcome. Thanks.

Major in whichever one you prefer. The differences in post-grad opportunities are negligible.
