Applied to transfer to UCLA, got accepted but declined. Now I regret the decision...

Hey guys like the title says, I go to another UC, and applied to UCLA to transfer, got in but ended up declining the offer. I now wish I had transferred, do you think UCLA will let me back in? What do you think the best method at approaching this?

What school do you go to now? Why do you regret declining their offer? Why did you decline their offer? And what makes you so sure that you’d be happy at UCLA?

The only thing you can do is apply again unfortunately. If it makes you feel better, I currently go to UCLA and feel like i made a mistake. So it’s not all that great over here.

What level are you at? If you are higher than or at junior status you are ineligible for readmission due to the unit cap.

Why don’t you like UCLA?

There’s always grad school. That’s probably your best shot to go to UCLA at this point.

@2016Candles, I feel like I’m just a number and i know this can happen at any of the otehr UCs but it’s not just that. i feel trapped in a bubble, because of the small space and the high student population. There’s an atmosphere of superficialness and snobbiness that I feel. The school is not very attractive imo either. I also don’t feel like I have any good friends.

I know that I’m definitely in the minority though. Most people do like UCLA, and don’t get me wrong, I’m proud to have been accepted and recognize how great this school is, but I just don’t like the atmosphere.

Why does everyone who goes to UCLA say they feel they’re just a number? Interesting…

I’ve never heard anyone say that at Berkeley and I never feel that I’m just a number.

Not everyone at UCLA feels that way. I don’t, and many others don’t. Some people do at Cal or UCLA or wherever, but don’t feel comfortable saying so- like it’s being disloyal. Everyone’s ecperiences are different, and everyone’s expectations are different. Every school isn’t a fit for everyone- it’s not necessarily a reflection of the school.

@ocnative, well good for you, Berkeley is perfect and LA apparently sucks.
And yeah what 2016candles said, there are a lot of ppl who feel like they’re just a number if they’re in a huge public school.
