When I applied, I was not sure what kind of engineering I wanted to do (only that I wanted to do engineering). I marked Undeclared Engineering with Aerospace as second choice (I now am fairly sure at least at this point that I want to do Aerospace).
However, I’m now realizing that it may be very hard to switch majors. Would undeclared engineering cause any issues with my chances? If I did get in, would having “Undeclared Engineering” make it difficult/impossible to actually get into my chosen Engineering major?
Thank you for your help in advance.
Undeclared Engineering majors are guaranteed their choice of major as long as they have a 2.7 in the major prep courses and declare no later than the end of their 4th quarter (fall of sophomore year).
The only way you may have potentially made things difficult is in the admissions process - Undeclared Engineering is probably more competitive than Aerospace Engineering.
^ alicante is right. They accept only the best of the best that they feel would excel in whatever engineering major they decide on
I put Aerospace as my second choice. If I got rejected to Undeclared, would I still have a shot at Aerospace?
