Applied undecided in ED app, but regretting it now?

Help! During my application process, I was leaning heavily toward undecided for my major as I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to concentrate on political science or the writing program in the English department. However, as time goes on I’m beginning to worry that picking this major will heavily damage my chances. My academics are ok: I meet the average on both GPA and SAT, nearly exactly. However, my extracurricular activities lean heavily toward poly-sci. Is it possible to e-mail them declaring my major now? Or should I just let it be and hope for the best?

Applying undecided will in no way hurt your chances. Brown is a great place to be undecided. The only reason applying undecided might be an issue is if it reflects a tendency in high school to dabble in a variety of classes and activities rather than commit yourself, and that does not sound like your situation.

^ this. You’re overthinking this. Really. deep breaths are called for.

Now, if you really want to worry about something: that missing capital on your Common App essay…

Sorry: just kidding. Please come back from the edge. You have a month to go – you’ll give yourself ulcers. Go binge watch some “Sherlock” or something.

@T26E4 Omg don’t play with my emotions like that lol. It’s a relief to know that it won’t hurt my application, life’s been overly hectic nowadays. Maybe I should just binge watch some friends and calm down.

I wouldn’t sweat that either. FYI my dd applied undecided too although she has some strong science EC and didn’t even do the science supplements.
