I applied under Philosophy and was accepted.
I feel that my stats are certainly strong enough for engineering at UMD.
What are my options right now to get into engineering? I wish I would have chosen it to start, but I wasn't familiar with the process and didn't know nearly as much as I do now. Any suggestions? DO I have to wait two years in to apply for this limited enrollment program?

You should be able to switch in without any trouble as along as you call SOON. Call the school and ask, but you should be able to take care of this now.

you can always switch.

These limited enrollment programs are designed so that higher level classes would be filled by only students of that particular major. If you look at the 200 level courses in engineering classes, you see that the class description says “for engineering majors only.” Luckily, the introduction engineering courses are available to anyone and the classes that are required for you to become an engineering major is open to anyone. By the time you completed 45 credits (Usually by your Fall Sophomore year) you must have completed all the required courses to become an engineering major. You can take introductory engineering classes and the gateway courses, but on paper you will still be a philosophy major until you are accepted into the Clarks school of Engineering.

I emailed admissions and they said they forwarded my request for review.
I figured it out, so this thread no longer needs assistance. Thanks.
