I really really want to get into UCB and want to take Chemical Biology in CoC but then I heard it's much harder to get into CoC than CLS. Is this true? Do you think I'll have a better chance at getting in if I apply for CLS? and I can later transfer to CoC?.. also, how hard is it to transfer to CoC?

I would think apply to the college at UCB you are interested in - CoC.

Not sure about transferring.

I think it’s easier to get into L&S and then transfer to CoC. From what I’ve heard, tons of people drop out of CoC after Chem 4A, so they’re always happy to accept people. Just make sure you’re on track for the program, so take Math 1A/B/53/54 (whichever one you qualify for), Physics 7A, and Chem 1A (4A if you can get in) in your first semester.

By the way, 4A isn’t really necessary to do well in 4B. I know plenty of people who have gotten As in 4B with just 1A or an AP Chem background. And in upper division classes, if there’s anything from 4A that you need to know, they generally teach it again anyway.
