I am currently a freshman at a public high school. I am very excited to apply for PA but i am not sure if I would fit in as a lower or junior.

My opinion for applying as a lower is that I would be gradually eased into the private school life, whereas if I was a junior most of my peers would already have had a full year of experience.
The benefits of being a junior is that it would probably be academically more challenging, and I would also fit in with my peers more.
I think the numbers of years wouldn't matter to me if I attend PA. I would probably want to never leave xD.

I don’t see why you’d fit in any better going a year later. It’s not like people will have changed much, and you can still take challenging classes as a sophomore Most people really love the boarding school experience and want more time there, if anything, so I’d recommend applying now. You’ll get to know people earlier on and have more time to enjoy.

You might wanna go check out the Prep School Forum. Imo, it would be totally worth it to apply as for lower year because then you get a fuller experience at the school.

Um, I don’t see why you’d want to repeat a year of high school. I can’t imagine that looks good to colleges, either. Is that something commonly done in boarding schools?
