<p>I applied as a biology major, but after some research, I've learned that the bio major is very competitive at Maryland. Will applying under this major hurt my chances of getting in, or if I'm not good enough for this major will I just be admitted under undecided?</p>
<p>If you are accepted to UMD (but not the bio LEP), you will be accepted into the College of Letters and Sciences. Then you can apply to transfer into the bio LEP after you are there…I think you have to wait at least a semester, but I’m not sure…hopefully others can give info there. In short, you don’t hurt your chances of being accepted to UMD based on the major you choose.</p>
