For those of you who applied for LEP programs (Business, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences and Policy-Biodiversity and Conservation, Communication, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Engineering, Government and Politics, Journalism, and finally Psychology), what did your letter of acceptance say on the bottom?
I am a CC transfer and I applied to Psychology. On the bottom of the letter it says “Major: Undecided (Letters & Sciences) (4901Z) Advising College: Division of Letters and Sciences.” As I understand, UMD does not admit anyone directly to the program before we commit to school, am I right?
If so, then after committing to UMD, what steps should I take to complete my admission to LEP program?
Also, my girlfriend, who also applied to an LEP program for Engineering had a line in her letter (which I did not have) that said that they will make final decision about the admission to LEP after she sends the transcript. They did not tell me anything like that. Does that mean that my LEP requirements are met and all I have to do is commit and they will admit me to psych?
