Hello all,
Does anyone know if when you apply to the engineering schools of say, UC Berkeley or LA, are you unconditionally rejected from the whole school if you get rejected from the engineering program? i.e., is it possible to be rejected from the engineering school but get in under general admission?
I'm applying to Berkeley and LA as engineering, but I'm worried about hurting my chances.
Are the engineering school applicants admitted on different standards from the other applicants?
Thanks in advance.

Personally, I've heard that if you're playing to the engineering school, then you better have really good grades in your math and science scores. If you apply to the College of Letters and Science, then your major doesn't matter as much.

Thanks for the info!
