Applying Early Decision Timing

So I'm applying ED 1 this year to my dream school (NYU)!!
But i was wondering if the date you apply for early decision has any impact on your application? For example, I plan to submit my common application around Columbus Day which is the second week of October i believe. I know this is well before the application deadline date, but is there possibly some sort advantage to people that apply earlier than Columbus Day? I know this is probably not even a considered possiblity, but I'm just curious. Does the date which you submit your college application for early decision affect your application status?

As long as you apply by the ED deadline, it’s all the same to colleges. For yourself, it’s usually less stressful to push the submit button before the eleventh hour ;).

Haha yes it would be alot less stressful to have at the last hour. But i was just making sure because I want my teachers and counselors to have ample time to edit my essay and write recommendation, which i believe one month is plenty of time. Is it not?

Usually a month is enough time. But there are times when it may not be due to other obligations, so my rule when asking someone to do something for me is to give them as much lead time as possible, you can always give them a reminder as the due date approaches.
