applying early?

I'm slightly conflicted as to whether I should apply scea to princeton...
As of now, my gpa is below the average gpa of students accepted from my school (by about 0.1 weighted)
However, after first semester of senior year I am fairly confident I should be able to get my gpa over the average, or very close to it.
I know that first semester grades are not used for ea, so I was wondering if it would be detrimental to apply early since colleges would only see my slightly below-average gpa. How important are 1st sem grades to the RD round? Would they have a significant influence on decisions?
does applying scea have any significant benefit? (I know on their website they say it is the same, but it is still a large difference in acceptance rates from ea to rd)

(Most of my essay's are fairly complete so I should not have any problem submitting by the Nov 1st deadline if I decide to apply early.)
should I just apply now, or wait until rd?
thoughts?

My Guidance Department says that if a fall semester will help your grades improve for admissions, then you should avoid ED - I think that waiting for the RD round and having a higher GPA as a result will be of great benefit to you.

Heh. I’m the opposite. I have a feeling my first semester is going to kill my 4.0 uw so I guess I should try to apply early to as many places as possible.

Hm well I wanted to apply early so princeton would at least know its my first choice, but now im thinking it may do more harm

bump anymore opinions?
