Applying ED to CAS next year, worried about major

I want to double major in history or foreign language and science (probably biology). However if I had to choose I would declare history or foreign lang. as my major over bio. The problem is that my counselor told me the school might think I'm lying because I don't have activities that relate to foreign language and history, though I have some that relate to science (animal shelter, red cross stuff). I'm really worried! Would the admissions officers really think I'm lying? I have taken 5 years of Japanese and am the secretary of a Japanese club. However I want to major in Italian or Classical studies, neither of which my high school offers classes for. I have taken AP Japanese and history classes though and got good scores so I don't know. Any thoughts?

I don’t know whether admissions officers would think you’re “lying,” but you should apply for a major that best reflects your high school resume. One thing admission officers are looking for most is “fit.” If your high school activities don’t reflect your fit, make sure you have a strong essay to show them how passionate you are.

You could just put undecided.

I personally think it’s fine to put down your strongest passion as your choice of major, but you have to “sell it” via your essays. If your passions are for things your HS does not offer, have you done anything on your own outside of school to explore these areas more?

Arts & Sciences is looking for someone who wants to get a liberal arts education. Let your personal essay explain your passion for the major, should you decide to put one down, or why you are undecided.

A&S does not accept you by major, as CALS does.

thanks to all of you! i definitely feel a lot better now haha. and cornellpezra i did not know that, but that definitely makes a lot of sense. thanks! :)
