I’m applying to some of the top prep schools as a nine grader for 10th grade, and I feel like I have almost no chance of getting accepted. Is it really hard to get accepted as a 10th grader? I don’t have much of a hook, but I have some extracurriculars and solid grades. Should I hope, or accept that I’m probably going to the public high school? I’d like to hope, but not unrealistically. :-S

We need more information! I’d suggest writing a little profile of yourself and starting a thread in the Prep School Chances section of the forum-- I’d be happy to help out. I’m currently a 10th grader at a boarding school and am pretty familiar with the admissions process (and what sort of resumes my classmates had).
