Applying for 11th grade?

I am applying to ANDOVER(1st choice), HOTCHKISS(2nd), and GEORGE SCHOOL(3rd) for 11th grade!
Is anyone else applying for 11th grade? I found 1 applying for EXETER and 2 others for ANDOVER

questions:
How hard is it to get in?

Hey, I’m applying to Exeter for eleventh grade… I’ve heard Andover admits like 20 new students for the eleventh grade, but I’m not sure. Could you look at my stats and tell me what you think my chances are please? Thanks

Faris-We are not AO’s so we could not tell you. That is also a very general question (I think)…

I am applying as a junior repeat to 3 schools, and I also now a lot of people who do. Exeter and Andover admits generally 30-40 uppers if i remember, not sure about hotchkiss and george sorry.

Also from personal experience and talking to coaches for my sport (football) higher the grade better for hooks like me, i have lower grades but supposedly higher chance of getting in bc of my sport

@andoverhopefulX: is that true for all hooks?

andover admitted exactly 19 people last year…admission this year will be a little less or same with even more applicants trying, :stuck_out_tongue: anyone else applying?? and Farism, I meant to ask, are you Caucasian? Christian? Islamic?

Im not “islamic”, but I am a muslim. There is a HUGE difference…
Why?

Just interested, since Lebanon is a really interesting region, 1/3 of each of the major monotheistic religions, and you are a very cultured person, care to explain the differences to me? I have many non islamic/muslim friends who are arab, and muslim friends who are NOT arabic, such as Turkish or Iranian.

^Most of the students in my school are Syrian, and 2nd most are Lebanese, and most of these syrian and lebanese kids are interconnected. So what is the difference between Islamic and Muslim? Isn’t muslim a noun, like “I am a muslim”, while Islamic would be an adjective to describe one’s culture or religion?

No, muslim is the noun and the name
Islam or Islamic means the extreme muslim and the terrorists.

Shushugah, where do you live and to what school do you go to???

I live in Brooklyn, NY and used to go to yeshivah of flatbush (am home schooled now)

How come most of students are syrian and lebanese in New York?
And how is it being home schooled? What to do you do?

most students in NY are black, latino, russian, italian, irish, jewish, pakistani, hindi, chinese, japanese, absolutely everything. we are 8 million people packed into one city.

My school is private and jewish, and these jews primarily come from arabic countries. there are 7 american boys in my entire grade, but most of them also have arabic family, hence only three of us are non arabic.

I am taking 2 online courses at artofproblemsolving, namely World Online Olympiad Training and “Geometry Olympiad”,

I will take weekly math courses in NY university, and Pushkin Academy. I will take more courses online as well as through city colleges.

There are amazing courses for free and non audited (no credit) on OCW.MIT.edu, or open courseware at MIT which is one of the top technology and math schools in the world.

Ooohhhh… anyways shushugah
LOOK THE NEW THREADS I HAVE POSTED, PLEASE CHANCE ME OR JUST COMMENT!!!

i’m also applying for 11th grade to andover, deerfield, and lawrenceville
i’m thai (does that help?)

I don’t know. But I’m going to tell you what I think…
Normally all “asian” applicants have extremely high grades, perfect scores, a huge list of EC’s and more… So it might cause some problems…
Anyways, I hope you and I get in!
Tell us when you get the results…

Andover is nearly impossible to get into for junior year.
