Thanks Castiel! I am getting about 2-3 recommendations from my high school teachers and my chemistry professor… hope that covers for it… WOo… My chemistry professor is blind… :P

OH! I am rushing for tri-delta this quarter, I am pretty sure I will get a bid, but bid is not until mid-March. Should I still put Tri-delta in my ECs? Does it even matter?

luckeyg, more than 2 LORs isn’t going to be good. the adcoms want to read your stuff as fast as possible; they don’t have time to sit around and read 4 letters saying basically the same thing.

for midterm reports, don’t send them in until you have a grade for each class. i forget cause it’s on the last page, but whoever said they sent it in with a “N/A” will have to send them another one once there is actually a grade available. it doesn’t have to be all of the grades again, but make a short version of the midterm form and have that one prof fill it out.

for prereqs, preference is given to students who have all of them completed or who have the ones they have left in progress. so yes, it does hurt you if you have no bio done at all for CALS.

people who think they’re missing things: the online system won’t be updated for a while, so stop sending extra materials.

for profs ignoring you for LORs: e-mail them once more and if they still don’t get back to you, get in contact with one of their grad students to see if something happened or go to their office hours and just pop in. you can politely remind them that there is a date that it needs to be sent by.

@ ironic…
Do you know about enology and viticulture major or like people in that major? people in Cornell hardly know that such a major exists…

When will they start to update the online status? I thought it will be updated daily?

Bio prerequisites page within CALS:

[CALS Admissions: Required Preparatory Coursework](http://www.cals.cornell.edu/cals/prospective/admissions/applying/transfer/coursework.cfm?title=Biology%20and%20Society)

I am applying for AEM so the lab requirement doesn’t apply to me. I can just take a sequence of Introduction Biology courses woot. :)

No problem, luckeyg Glad to help fellow CALS applicants.

Umm I don’t think putting tri-delta could hurt, it after all is an e.c. I don’t know if it would help though, but I suppose adding an extra ec always helps.

Double check with ironic.

My question of the day: How do I acquire an account with Cornell which will allow me to check the status of my application? Will I only get one once I submit my Common App and supplement?

I am pretty sure once you submit the common app yes (probably supplement to, not to sure) then you get info which allows u to check if other documents have arrived.

this was how it was when i applied last year

Word. I seriously need my life back. I keep thinking about the admission/rejection! I need to think about other things – like my studies.

^agreed. I think about cornell so much, i made a deal with myself to not go on cc after my rejections and here I am in this thread.

At least this thinking means we care I am not going to lie though, I will be CRUSHED if i don’t get in.

But we have to be positive We can only try our best and if we dont get in then i will apply next sem then next sem. We got this guys.

Castiel, I like your outlook. But, alas, this application has turned into my every other thought. It’s like this nagging toddler that is grasping onto my ankle and won’t let go, lol. Soon enough we will know.

By the way guys, a friend of mine who goes to Cornell texted me earlier this afternoon, telling me that one of the students jumped of a bridge, into one of the gorges, and died. It’s a tough place over there.

Considering applying to ILR.

3.1 GPA at Fordham U, 1480 SAT, National Merit Scholar, 3.9 HS GPA, bunch of ECs (I work at a professional radio station).

Any chance in the world with that GPA?

I’m applying for economics/philosophy (CAS)

3.4 first semester (C in French otherwise all As/A-s), 3.8ish this semester. My recommendation is from a professor at Cornell.
Good ECs (maybe a little too faith oriented though, will help me applying to Marquette/BC but I’m afraid it might not stand out so well at Cornell).

HS Stats: 3.4 GPA, 4 APs, Graduated early, 2070 SAT, 29 ACT, captain of tennis and mock trial teams, president of photography club.

Other: after graduating early I did missionary work in Kenya, then travelled around europe solo for a few months. I talked about wanting to join the Jesuit Volunteer Corps after college and how cornell would help me become a better leader in one of my essays.

I don’t know how realistic it is to “chance” me, I don’t think anyone really has much of a clue what CAS is looking for with an 8-9% acceptance rate.

CAS is like impossible to transfer into, especially without a superlative GPA. Might want to think of a different college within Cornell.

haha thanks Cheeky!

lol nice comparison. i really want to know too, i spent so much time on my app trying to perfect it

thats so sad…what a shame, someone smart enough to go to cornell killed themselves. a few months ago someone killed themselves by jumping off the library in my school and it was really depressing.

It is sad!! I go to Cal Poly, and architecture up here is extremely hard from what I heard… There was a guy who was missing for 4 days about 3 months ago, and polices ended up finding him dead… I think it’s not just Cornell that is hard. I think it’s really up to you… If he were religious, looked for some help, or had really good friends to look up… I don’t think he would have done it… you know…

I JUST WANT TO GET IN!!! I HAVE MIDTERMS NEXT WEEK BUT I CANNOT STUDY BECAUSE I HAVE TO FINISH ESSAYS!!! AHHHHHHH!!!

These essays…jeepers.

why would anyone leave california to come to cornell of all places? ill gladly trade places

I live in New york city currently and am from Florida (near Miami) and would gladly trade places with you lol
