Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

YES!!! I GOT MY BIO II CLASSS, but I THINK I"M FAILING BIO I :(

Lol so is half this forum. It is the hardest subject imo

Another question that I have:
For the mid-term or mid-year reports, I know that most of the grades are going to be bad (only 1 A, the rest are Bs and Cs) should I explain myself on Common App -> Writing -> Additional Information? Or if that’s not the right place to do so please direct me to a more appropriate place.
Thanks

HELPPP…So I am still finalizing my application =/
What is a good length for the CA essay?? It says 250 words min but I am sure they are expecting a longer essay?

500-750 words. And hongkong, don’t do it on the common app, attach a sheet and explain it there.

500-750 is for the supplemental one.

@RileyJohn
When you say attach a sheet and explain in there? where should I attach this sheet?
Do you mean, I should just write it down on Microsoft word then upload it to Common App under Writing section, and the upload tab in the Additional Information section? (I’m doing it online) Because that is the only place I see where it allows additional comments.

I think he meant you should attach a sheet to the report.

^ exactly.

both essays should be about 500-750 words. though to be fair, my CA essay was 2 pages single spaced lol, so like… twice that haha.

International students applied for ILR. Has anyone had an interview? What it was about? I’m very thrilled of it.

Do you think international students are at a disadvantage or, hailing from a different region, at an advantage?

Btw, Abbos, where are you transferring from?

yeah, I do think international students (we) are at a disadvantage. not really a disadvantage but NY residents and US citizens will have more priority than us.

Where are you from? In what way? I was under the impression that diversity’s good. They admit us based on location? Or?

I know that NY state residents definitely get higher priority at least at the state contract colleges. But when compared to other US residents, I think international students have equally good or even better chances if you’re not asking for financial aid.

^^ That’s what I thought. Not applying for Financial Aid. And I’m xferring from Australia and from what I know, there are not to many students from Australia transferring to Cornell so (crosses fingers). I’m a Singaporean though.

@boysdontcryy: I’m from Vietnam but I am currently attending community college in Bay Area, California.
@chris0089: hi Chris, did you submit everything yet? just checked the Fall 09 thread and CALS started releasing their decision even before UCLA, on April 13th. hella nervous man.

Nice. How’s CC? Is it generally easier than four year colleges? Mm.

I think the sooner they release results the better. Can start planning. Have you guys considered where you’ll be staying?

that means if your not asking for fin. aid and you’re a citizen, you have a super duper advantage?

i felt a rush of “i hate it here; I must transfer” today when i had to take a group test in chem. my groupmates did not know how to FOIL 2 binomials o_O and i had to teach them, thus wasting time and losing points headdesks. Now i feel more motivated to write my essays haha

CC is alright imo. the best thing abt CC is that we are closer to the professors and they care more about students than in 4 year universities. If I get accepted, I will stay in campus, maybe join a frat house lol.

I thought that international students had it harder for some reason, because isn’t there a quota for international students that can be accepted? there are a lot on this forum so it seems like there will be a lot of applicants that are internationals idk just a guess
