Me too! But I didn’t see hotel school responses from last yrs thread.

@irony: are the classes any more intense than those you took at your previous school? ( Cornell kids who haven’t taken courses elsewehere say its hard but I feel like its biased since they have no comparision). …or are they harder b/c ur getting into your major classes?

@Castiel: thanks, haha. I would assume almost every college student at least sorta likes “my name” :). Is gen chem 2 for you stuff like equilibrium, acid/base titrations, electrochem, etc? Orgo isn’t bad, at least not at my school. A ton of work, but the actual material itself isn’t too hard to learn. I’m in a quantitative/analytical chem class right now, and it’s like gen chem 2 on steroids. The stuff you take into account on your calculations is pretty ridiculous, stuff that you would either ignore or had no idea it even existed from gen chem.

Wow just reading over some of the decisions last year for CAS made my heart drop. I think I’m going to go to church tomorrow for the first time in 6 years…

DreamingBig
I plan to go to Church, Buddhism temple and maybe a mosque. There is also a Jewish temple in my neighborhood. I will go there if they allow me in.
Which one is in charge of transfer admission?

I haven’t gotten anything yet! My acceptance package hasn’t arrived, and I’m becoming really irritated. I feel like the mailroom people saw it and then threw it out because they SO would (not actually…I hope lol. Although they are bitter people). But the FA office said I would receive my FA package within the next couple of weeks (separate from my acceptance letter). I will definitely post all the information about my decision when I get it.

Seems like I gotta wait for a really long time then. I came from a third world country and my family is ****ing poor. Even if I got accepted; still no aid means dropping out of college for me XD

competition isn’t too bad. a lot of people work in groups to do problem sets and study together. it’s the amount of stuff you’re expected to memorize and then beyond memorization, you need to use what you learned conceptually to answer questions. it forces you to think critically, so it’s good, but maybe not so great for your transcript haha. it’ll take some getting used to, but then it’s all about how much time you can spend studying. tests are where they really get you. i never had essay tests before getting here, but so far they’ve been half multiple choice and half essays. reading is definitely a huge chunk of time if you want to stay on top of things. i only have 3 papers this semester so those aren’t too bad for me, but i heard that english classes are killers.

if i was supersticious or religious id pray, thankfully im not :)

and personally gen chem 2 was the hardest class I had taken until I started Ochem this semester. I don’t think Ochem itself is hard just my professor is ridiculous, our class average is a 45%, Im at a 71% he says he doesnt curve, I really really hope he curves!
