I have a feeling that they avoid sending decisions early/through emails so we don’t slack the finals.

maybe. but I know that, if we were accepted, we would have to send them our final transcript as another confirmation of our worthiness (this goes for pretty much all schools).

unless Cornell doesn’t actually ever rescind its admittees?

'tis all good, Castiel. Man, I suggest you call collegeboard and have them look this over. They’re usually extremely, extremely helpful. I’m telling you this because I distinctly remember getting an email from them asking me to submit this particular form to Cornell (among others). Also, call Cornell and explain your situation to them. You don’t want to get into Cornell only to find out that you will not be able to pay for it.

You have two calls to make! Good luck. Tell me how it goes.

@lobzz: haha yeah i think I will call or email collegeboard. And idk if i will call cornell, i am not too worried about it, I mean if I get in I will go WOWZA and get on top of my FA, but idk if I will even so im chillign out for now. Probably a bad idea, but i know things will work out.

@koldsoup: Hahah dude after adding you on FB i just realized me you and Noel worked out at coles one day. You invited me to study chem with you after lol (was the day before the 2nd midterm or final i forgot) but I said no I have to head back home. Small world

Just live life so that you don’t come to regret any decisions you made in the past.

Definetely a good motto to live by. How did your financial aid things go

Meh. I just need to submit one form online. I’m going to do that any day now. lol. I’m such a procastinator… but in all seriousness, I’m going to do that tomorrow, after I call them and ask a few questions.

cornell does rescind acceptances, so no Ds or Fs! maybe C-s too O_o

@Castiel
Yup small world

When would we send them the final transcripts?

@koldsoup

If your grades are good, I would say send your final transcript as soon as it’s available. You might be able to get it into them before they make your final decision, and it could only work in your favor for them to see a list of great final grades.

If they’re not so good for this semester, I would say hold off as long as possible. No use in giving them a reason to deny you. Upon acceptance, they will probably request that you send in your final grades as soon as they are available, and as long as you didn’t tank they won’t rescind your acceptance.

Ahhh I wish they would email the decisions instead of mailing it, since I (and I am sure many of you) are not living at home and I would hate to receive a phone call from my family informing me of a thin envelope

ok… i’ve ■■■■■■■ this board forever and I’m finally posting because the stress is eating me alive. This group’s members seem to be the only people in my life that actually understand. Everybody tells me either ‘oh it doesn’t matter’ or ‘sure you’ll get in’ without any facts. Well, i guess this is my official introduction so hello and thank you to everyone on this board. :-)

welcome aboard buddy.

p/s: they lost my financial aid application. I faxed another copy today. The line was busy. I tried again. The line was busy. I tried another time. Still busy. So I brought over 11 pages to the mail room to fax it. They told me it went through. However I got to go to my class so they put my document on the newspaper shelves so I could pick up after my class. Apparently everyone in my school knows I am transferring now. ■■■!

hey so im not sure if i should send final grades?

3 of my 5 classes have posted my grades (all As, same as my midterm report).

should i send an updated transcript showing the final posted grades?

I wouldn’t send them since they didn’t ask for them. Imagine getting rejected and doing that extra work they would probably be like “doesn’t he know he’s already been rejected” only cause your midterm report grades were good and I’m sure ur other ones were too so this won’t make a difference. Just wait till they ask you for them.

In the meantime: how do we fix the achievement gap that has grown so large in society and has cost our economy so much? ( this is a question I have to answer for a scholarship, I put it out there as a rhetorical one)

Can you further define what you mean by “achievement gap” or was that how the question was worded?

Wat if I get in, but Ima bad swimmer?

:O

Cynthiahxp@: that’s how it was worded. The minimum word req was 2,000 words so I wrote this great essay and I let my advisor read it and he said I had a great foundation but I needed a concrete solution, buut I feel like it an issue that can’t be solved easily, like world hunger.

@hyper. I’d definitely call admissions and ask. It definitely can’t hurt as it’s another semester/quarters worth of grades they can judge you on.

@vike27. The swimming requirement is waived for transfer students.

@vike: I’ve been a lifeguard and swim instructor for a lil over two yrs now so I could always teach you
