Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

From what I’m aware of, only baruch is making up that snow day, my teachers said they will just give us the final in class instead of bringing us in again. But still spring break is long gone, eventhough it was only a week ago lol

About the swim test… A Cornell official told me that it has something to do with world war II. Don’t remember what exactly. I’m glad I’m a good swimmer, though :)

And I have yet to receive anything regarding the missing mid-term report. Doesn’t look like AAP requires it. I’m gonna have to call.

anyone receive decision today?

Spoke w/a woman in Admissions about an hour ago who said that they started notifying transfers on April 8th and will continue to do so through the end of May. She also said that they notify via U.S. Mail and not e-mail.

Looks like we could potentially have another 6 weeks to go.

“In fact, many swimming requirements date to the early 20th century, when there was a national effort to improve water safety, or more specifically to World War I and World War II, when college campuses became military training grounds and the country underwent bouts of anxiety over its physical fitness.”

I was looking forward to seeing a big fat envelope but came home to nothing =[

i think umich > nyu. just my opinion. nyu’s obviously great, but i think very overrated

also, transfers don’t take the swim test and we also don’t need to take PE so no worries. i would recommend taking at least one PE class for fun though. there’s all sorts of dancing, golf, tree climbing, scuba diving, massage, water skiing, etc

well i think nyu’s underrated… anyway.

i am so sick of this waiting!

water skiing?? sickkkk. too bad they are still missing my ***king high school transcript

Oh well. Bummer. I suggest we all get on with our lives and hope for the best AND prepare for the worst lest our hearts be deflated like balloons when the results are made known.

i think the vast majority of applicants will be finding out within 2 weeks’ time. i have no evidence, but i think now that the adcom has finished with freshman apps, transfer admissions has a considerably lighter applicant pool to work through

except for engineering…last year it seems like they only began releasing decisions late may/early june o_o OR if your stuff still hasn’t been forwarded.

luckily i didn’t apply there though, hehe

I kind of missed this but how many transfer applicants apply to Cornell every year?

NVM. I got the info.

lol, today was anitclimatic

I wish they’d be quick – even if I don’t get in. I want some closure!! I’m so pessimistic because frankly, we have to be realistic: the number of qualified applicants are copious and seriously, BAH!

Thank you for corroborating my earlier statement, myoneandonly. You truly are my one and only… corroborator. haha

I haven’t received my acceptance package via snail mail yet, just to let you all know. So either UVM’s mailing system is slacking off, or Cornell has yet to send out the first round.

i think its the latter, since you already got an email. idk if corny would send an email and letter? maybe though, only speculating.

Hey, Castiel. So did you manage to send the rest of the financial aid stuff? I only have t submit my non-custodial form, now. And maybe IDOC? Do they require this?

Also, my professors said they’d provide PREDICTED end-of-semester grades rather than current grades, since I only took 2 mid-terms and 3 quizzes. Is that okay?

Hey, Lobzz! Sup.

haha no I didn’t.I cannot seem to get the non custodial thing to work. I mean collegeboard pickd the schools to send it to and for some reason collegeboard assumed that Cornell didnt want the non custodial so it never sent.

I went back to it and i dont think there is a way i can send it. :frowning: How about you?

and no i dont think cornell is IDOC.

haha yeah thats ok, midterm reports are not very heavy since they can be changed in a matter of ways(in my opinion of course) so i think its fine
