I have been looking into applying to the Ivy league schools this fall. I know that most of them are need-blind for admissions if you're a US citizen. However, how does it work for Canadian/International students?

If they aren't need-blind for Canadians/Internationals, does it put those who need financial aid at a disadvantage? If so, how bad of a disadvantage is it?

Several high level US universities and colleges are need blind for internationals. Amherst, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, MIT and UC Berkeley.

For need-aware universities, it puts internationals who need financial aid at a severe disadvantage.

Out of the ivy league, which ones are need blind for internationals? I see you mentioned HYP and Dartmouth. How about the rest?

Brown University
Duke University
UPenn

Also, how about Johns Hopkins?

@bouders - When you say at a severe disadvantage, in what way? Would they accept people who have lower stats then you but don’t require FA? Is it that bad?

In addition to bouders list (with the exception of UC Berkeley, since it doesn’t provide any need-base aid to Canadians), UPenn and Columbia are also need-blind to Canadians exclusively out of all International applicants.
