Canadians?

-i am a canadian student, and was wondering how high my chances of getting acceptance with need based financial aid at an ivy are

-as i am not a usa citizen, do my stats need to be significantly higher than a usa applicant who would otherwise be accepted?

-does applying for aid in my application hurt my chances of addmission?

when school's say that they are indeed need-blind (to international) are they being entirely truthful, because in that case they could end up committing more aid than they can afford?

In my experience Canadians are held to the same standard as US applicants for admissions purposes and I know several Canadians who received excellent financial aid packages from their Ivies.

that sounds promising :)

...would the fact that i have grown up/am living in the middle east work for or against me?

any more opinions please?

Applying for aid should in no way hinder your admission. Harvard maintains that out of ethical concerns, they do not share financial aid info with the admissions committee, even though the two offices are in the same department. And any background that increases your global awareness and citizenship should be an asset if you take care to address how that experience has stretched you and broadened you perspectives.
