Applying for Le Rosey

Ill be going to le rosey for the 2017 school year as an eleventh grader (US system), does anyone know anything about it.
I’ve attended the summer camps and it was fun but I’m feeling worried about going to it full time.
Are the teachers nice? Are the boys and girls as rude and spoiled as everyone says they are? Will I be able to make friends easily or are they very closed minded? Not that this matters but I am from royalty so would that would change how students and teachers view me?

I have heard that royalty is not uncommon at Le Rosey, so I doubt that it would affect too much on how students and teachers view you.

I also heard directly from Le Rosey that, even with maximum financial aid, which only a very limited number is available, a family is expected to contribute about 1/3, which is about full pay for US boarding schools. All EC and travel expenses are not covered by financial aid. So you won’t be seeing anyone poor there.

Are you just applying or do you expect that you will be admitted for sure?

Chance is, you know about Le Rosey more than any of us on the board. It would be nice if you can share anything from your Summer camp.

I am a current student at Le Rosey and have been here for the past 9 years. My dad, my three aunts, my brother, my sister and my three cousins have all attended this school. I can assure that it has literally become my second family. No matter what background you are from or how wealthy you are, it does not matter. The people are very open-minded and will never judge you for who you are. Obviously at the beginning it will be tough being away from home but integrating yourself is really not a problem and will almost come naturally since you are always with each other and will create an incredible bond.
It is true that we all come from a very privileged background but that does not mean we are spoiled. You are going to meet incredible people from all over the world, no nationality can exceed ten percent of the school’s population therefore exposing you to cultures you might have not even heard of.

The school is often referred to as a “school for life”
It truly is a school for life because even after leaving, the alumni come back every year to see each other. There is an association for former alumni which organizes events every other month. Whenever these alumni get together their relationship is untouched as it was when they left which just shows how strong the bond between them is. When you become a “Roséen”, even if you have not attended the school at the same time as someone else, you will have a special bond. This bond, no matter where you go in life, means that you will never be alone, there will always be someone there to help you. It might seem intimidating at first but once you get here you understand that everyone is part of this family who will accept you no matter your name, your background or culture.
The school’s motto is “Actis Virtus”, which means that your actions show your values. At Rosey you won’t be judged for who you are but rather your actions will define your identity and give you the opportunity to present the best impression of yourself.
Coming to Le Rosey was the best thing that has happened in my life until now and I am certain you won’t regret it if you decide to attend it.
