Just wondering if there are any Out of State students who have applied for Ohio residency for tuition purposes in the past who could give me a better idea of what all is involved? Any information/advice at all is appreciated.

From OSU website:

What are the requirements for establishing Ohio residency for tuition purposes?

In general, a student must demonstrate that they meet all of the following criteria:

The student is expected to live in Ohio for a full, twelve consecutive months immediately preceding the term for which they are applying for residency. The expectation is that the student should not be absent from the state any longer than two consecutive weeks or a total of thirty days during the twelve-month review period (this includes semester breaks, spring break, and summer break).

The student should demonstrate their intent to become an Ohio resident by transferring any items of registration to Ohio such as a driver’s license, automobile registration, and voter registration (if applicable).

The student must demonstrate that during the twelve-month period while establishing residency, they have had sufficient income to meet all expenses. Documentation of income sources used during the twelve-month period is required.

There’s also the Forever Buckeye law. If you graduated from an Ohio high school and moved out of state, you can attend any Ohio college as an in state student as long as you complete the requirements.
