Applying for scholarships too early?

Im a high school junior, looking to get some scholarships since I want to attend an out of state school.
Is it too early for me to start applying for scholarships right now? Im primarily using family connection, and the majority of the scholarships have deadlines in January and February. Does this mean that these are only for seniors?

Any other tips for looking/applying for scholarships as a junior right now would be helpful  Really dont have much to do with the storm coming

No. Now is the right time to start looking.

Scholarships open to juniors include the Coolidge Scholarship (full ride, new this year), Carson Scholarship, Hamilton Scholarship, Nordstrom’s Scholarship, and QuestBridge College Prep Scholarship. Some place more of an emphasis on financial need than others.

Also, obligatory CC disclaimer that the best (meaning, the largest, and renewable) scholarships typically come from schools themselves; so put together a realistic list of schools to apply to where, ideally, your stats would get automatic merit. You can apply to schools with competitive scholarship programs/reach & financial reach schools from there.

Our student’s approach was to start researching 1-2 years ahead of time, seeing the essay questions and creating responses to have in storage. Student created an organized spreadsheet with opening/closing dates, links and more. It also gave us a really good feel for what types of qualifications were needed to make sure to have those covered. We’ll see in a few months if our student’s hard work pays off.
