Applying in the fall

I am looking to apply to NCSU this fall. I had a 3.5 gpa freshman year, 3.7 sophomore, and a 4.4 junior year. By junior year I had finished AP BC Calculus with an A- and AP Physics with a A-. I have 6 AP’s including senior year, and play 2 varsity sports. I am also a part of DECA and I have taken STEM. i scored a 1900 on my SAT and a 31 on my ACT. with these score what is the likelihood of me being accepted in the early decision? Also, if i was to be denied from the engineering program would it be possible for me to still be accepted into the school? Please be honest

I looked at a conversion calculator on your ACT and SAT scores. If it’s right …your 31 is a much higher score - it would correlate to a 2100-2150 on the SAT. I would suggest not sending your SAT score. Just send your ACT.

Yes, if denied COE you definitely could get accepted into a different College of the Univ. You have good overall scores That said, however, what were your math sub-scores on the ACT and SAT? That is what COE really focuses on. Frankly, for COE applicants, a high math on SAT/ACT will cover many other weaknesses, but a low or only average math score can hurt your chances. Also, when you say you took STEM, does that mean you have taken Chemistry? Chem is a must for 1st year COE students and NCSU wants to see a good high school grade in Chem with lab.
