Applying next this year

First off I noticed the thread name soon after posting and am embarassed so no need to bring it up :).

Hi,
UCSB is my #1 school so I was hoping I could get some input on my chances at the school.

Sophomore+Junior UC GPA=3.68
California Resident

AP Classes:
AP Biology: 4
AP Calc AB: 4
AP Euro History: 3

Class load next year (I've heard they monitor this):
Expository reading and writing
AP Statistics
AP Government
Physics
T.A.
Screen Printing

ACT:
Composite: 28
Math: 32

EC:
Altar Serving (Don't laugh my mother makes me :P) for four years ~100 hours
Thrive Organization (Volunteering at a local low budget school) ~20 hours
Vice President of Link Crew (Volunteer group who put on freshman orientation)~50 hours
Job at Target for a year now
Member of CSF (Cal. Scholarship Foundation)
JV Lacrosse Captain
Varsity Lacrosse

Ethnicity:
White

Thanks!,
Travis

get your test scores up to improve your chances

Your UC GPA is a little low but if you keep up with all of your ECs and do well in your senior year I think you stand a good chance of acceptance.

Up your test scores (to be on the safer side.)

Otherwise, admissions, truth be told, is a roll of a die. Especially among the mid-tier UC’s (UCSB, UCI, UCD.)

Alright, thanks for the input guys!

One more question:
I broke my finger a week before lacrosse tryouts and was not able to tryout for varsity this year but was moved up to varisty from JV (was the captain of JV) at the end of the year. Will I be able to tell colleges that I played at the Varsity level or will it show up on my transcript as only JV, and will this make a difference?

I think you should just tell colleges that you were on varsity… heh
