Applying to 12 colleges?

<p>Hey everybody. I heard from someone that if I apply to many colleges, those colleges will confer with each other and it might ruin my chances or something like that. Is this true? Also any other drawbacks to applying to many many colleges? Inb4 "time!" I'm pretty much a no-lifer who sits at home until robotics season so I've got time.</p>
