Applying to difficult law schools

Hi, I was wondering if applying to upper tier law schools (ex. Stanford Law) from a school like Loyola Marymount decrease my chances of getting in? Say for example I had a 3.8 GPA and 160s LSAT score. Just wondering if the so called “prestige” of the undergrad school has an impact during admission.

It will not be your college, will be you LSAT that will keep you out of a lot of the T-14, especially if you don’t have any major hooks. You should be in the 170s.

I agree with sybbie. It is LSAT and GPA above all else.

Other things like essays, where you went for undergrad, other interesting experience, etc. may give one a slight advantage/disadvantage, but that’s it.

Prepare as much as possible for the LSAT. Take timed tests. (The LSAT is a test of endurance IMHO.)

Best of luck!
