Applying to pre-professional schools

Hi, I'm new to CC and I would just like to know if you guys have any advice on how to get into prestigious pre-health schools. I'm aiming for the UC Berkeley and UC Davis schools of optometry, clinical lab science (only UCD), and possibly pharmacy.

I'm a freshman Biology major and all my classes match up with these schools' required courses for entering applicants. However, I'm afraid that if I don't get into any decent programs (Western University is my safety), I won't get any jobs with just a BSc in Biology.

My only activities are: undergrad research in Microbiology, hospital volunteering, and employment as a technical support student at my university. I also assist in coaching Academic Decathlon but I'm not sure if that counts for anything. I'm planning to stay with these for four years.

My question is: should I major in something else to get better job prospects if my pre-health track doesn't work out? Or are my stats enough to at least get me an entry-level job SOMEWHERE?

(Note: I was accepted into UC Berkeley as an undergrad applicant (went to a state school instead because I could not afford Cal). Does that mean that I have a higher chance of getting into their grad school?)
